UPDATES

01/19/2012 - RagNBone, Segment 2 has been released!

ABOUT
Back in 2009, about a month after the release of Shane Acker's '9', *ShrineArt brought to my attention her interest in the movie that developed after seeing it in theaters. I hadn't seen it myself, and resorted eventually to watching a poor quality version on my PC, but the effect was nonetheless permenant. Within that month, we began roleplaying our stitchpunk characters together and weaving them into a storyline that was remincent of our old roleplays when we were Foster and Fanfiction.net freaks. 2 1/2 years into the future, and that roleplay has grown to become an extremely important and symbolic timeline of many characters, events, and even relationships that have occured in both of our lives. The result of that, is RagNBone. We initially created Stitchpunks for the use of RagNBone and our website's content, but as it evolved, it is more of an OC stomping ground. When fans began appearing before RagNBone's release, we decided it was time for an exclusive fanclub, hence this group!

Submissions
You may contribute and submit any artwork involving the Characters, Chimaeras, Machines, and Humans of RagNBone. Please note they will go through an approval process so that I don't have to sit and delete non-related artwork! If you have Stitchpunk OC artwork that is not RagNBone related, you may visit our group #Stitchpunks to submit them there!

FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is RagNBone?
RagNBone is the resulting Interactive Comic, and a more refined edition of our roleplay that we've had over the past 2 1/2 years (and it is NOT complete.). It is the story of before, during, and after the movie events of 9. It's storyline is about life, evolving emotionally, physically and mentally, and it is about acceptance of all that is, was, and will be.

What format is RagNBone available in?
The RagNBone story will be available mainly in Interactive Comic form, as well as a Novel form as the parts are individually updated. You may enjoy either or both forms!

What is an Interactive Comic?
If you have ever been a fan of Gaia Online, Neopets, Subeta, or various artists on here, you will have ran into an Interactive Comic at least once. It is a comic that needs your direct interaction by use of a mouse in order to read. For RagNBone, some parts are done up in storyboard, where you use arrows to shift to and from the different scenes. The majority however, is done in traditional comic format, and requires you to hover your cursor over every panel so that it highlights and dialogue pops in, allowing you to read at your own pace, and keep the element of sudden surprise that only films have previously pulled off.

Why do you suggest having headphones in on certain pages?
RagNBone is a musical adventure, not just a reading one. Music has played an extremely important part in plot and character development, as well as fully dramatizing certain events. When you see the Headphone icon on the loading screen of a segment, it is because this particular segment contains a musical number. Musical Numbers work by you running your cursor over the panel. If it is a Start Panel, it will immediately begin the music in the background of the comic, and automatically highlight the remaining panels for you as the lyrics arrive in the song. This ensures you keep the pace necessary for the duration of the song, and allows you to enjoy the full impact of the number.

How often are updates?
Due to the specific format we are using for the comic, as well as the involving novelization and storyboarding, updates are spaced out much like Lackadaisy. While we cannot guarantee a weekly update, we can most certainly guarantee that a segment can and will be uploaded at least once a month for your viewing and reading pleasure.

May I create gift art of ____?
You may create gift art at any point in time of any character that has visual representation in the gallery. If there is no imagery of the character, chances are they're unreleased, and we will not be able to show you said characters or allow gift art until they've been revealed. If you need any character information, we are working on full profiles for every character and will gladly provide information by Note, IM, Email, or Comment!

May I draw/use/write about _____ in my story/art/other project?
For writers and artists, you are allowed to use the characters in any way you wish, just please link us to your final result! :D We'd love to read/view your work! Be sure to give proper copyright for the appropriate characters as well. You may locate the copyright information in the Folder of that character's set/species.

May I use your concept of Chimaeras/Machines in my work?
Chimaeras have been around WAY before RagNBone was even conceptual, and our specified versions of the Chimaeras are no different. You may use the idea any way you see fit. The only time we request credit is when you are specifically using the design of one of our Chimaeras in RagNBone. The same goes for Machines.

I noticed some Stitchpunk OCs/Owners have been cameos in the RagNBone comic. Can I get in on that?
Cameos are exclusive spots that are given as a respectful tip of our hats to the owner, stitchpunk design, concept, or idea. You are free to come asking about it, but when it comes down to it, it will be our choice on whether or not we wish to include you, your punks, or any of your suggestions/concepts/ideas in our story. As RagNBone is very symbolic in a majority of ways, we don't want to shrug off that symbolism just for the sake of including everything and everyone.

How are there humans in RagNBone?
In RagNBone, the timeline spans from approximately 288 BC to the Present Day. In this alternative history, the events of 9 take place to the exact point, and we have built the entire comic, history, present, and future, based on those events. Due to immaculate detail on the Scientist's part of documenting, there is no absolute proof that all humans were wiped out. Just the existance of passing the information on for others to read gives proof of this (although in theory it could be stitchpunks reading it!). As a result, we created a map of the world as it would look from the time we begin to the time it ends, marking the full layout of exactly how the world, humans, stitchpunks, and other beings survive based on the cause and effect factor.

Are there Machines in RagNBone?
Plenty. There are both ones frequent enough to be named, those vital enough to be logged, and even more that are simply cameo. While they no longer consume the planet with complete domination, they lurk about, biding their time and fighting against the new threat that has arrived to test their patience.

Is there a lot of sex/yaoi/yuri in RagNBone?
Contrary to popular belief, there isn't a lot, and there is. When refining the story, there are points where incidents take place that also detail towards the plot. RagNBone is about life, both the daily, the past, the present, the future, and all that entails with it. With knowledge comes experimentation, and the stitchpunks are not short of any of it in our story. There are many male/male pairings, even female/female pairings, and even straight pairings. There are 3, 4, 5 people in on it at once, there are times where it's just one person. While we have more then we care to share for the finished comic, if there is interest (and there always is), we will refine those scenes and post them up as optional comics to view in the future.

You and *ShrineArt are in the comic? How and why?
In every story, the author will always be essential to include a part of themselves in their stories, to relate, to detail experience, to bring the full length of intensity to it. In RagNBone, we have placed ourselves in it simply because it is strongly based off of the roleplay we've played with. Shrine was the first to get into 9, I was not. I Had barely gotten into the movie let alone thought of creating any OCs, and it wasn't until later that I decided to create my own set. Until that point, it was Shrine showing off the Evepunks to me, and me taking on the "Guest" approach at the household that had begun to build itself around us in our minds. The more we used it, the more we threw ourselves into it. In the end, we are the main humans who begin the mission, but we are the side characters to the overall story. The human effect of RagNBone is fuel for the fight of the Chimaera, the survival of the Machine, and the purpose of the Stitchpunk. Nothing more, nothing less.

Are there death scenes?
Plenty. Our comic runs on the laws we have created (similar to the Robot laws one would see) known as 21 Grams, based off of the theoretic experiments of weighing the human soul. It is through this that we create death, prevent death, and succeed death. While some of the character's death scenes have already been revealed via text, there are some that are unexpected, and will flip the overall storyline into a hellion of chaos as time goes on. We are not your typical TV sitcom producers. We don't bait you with the death of a character and then toss some side character that is only somewhat essential to the plot away. We attack on the main cast, and we give reason for you to fear for them.

I have another question!
If you happen to have absolutely ANY questions regarding the characters, content, background story, inspiration, musical, or other questions, do not hesitate to note *Rattlesire or comment in the group comments with your question. I will try my best to get to them as quick as possible and answer them as I see fit. If a question involves revealing unreleased content or speaking about characters that have not been revealed past their names, I will be unable to answer them properly until after the content or character has been released.
